anybody know about db drag?

yuou guys might have seen the previous post about the $ 300 astro van im considering...

well before i buy it id really like to know the kind of potential it has and the kind of competiton ill be up against. first of all, what classes could i end up in if i wanted to do a wall? wouldnt do more than 2 woofs to start for financial resaons. anybody know the classes well?

i dotn want to do extensive work to it (cementing doors, switching windshields, raising the floor, etc etc.

id rather stay in somewhat of a street class and keep this thing drivable.

also in these classes what kind of numbers are consistently being put up?

most likely id be competing in db drag comps more than anything, but might check otu some other shows sometimes.

I agree, you will also need a nice budget to work with to compete with most of the competition.

thats what he plans on doing--he just wants to get his feet wet competing against some of the local shops here because of them are garbage installers who cater to the "rattle kids"

ok thanks squeek i saw two of the links you gave me but the middle one with the grid helped the most thanks.

and i might decide after all that a teen doesnt have enough income to get into competition and it might be better to not buy a vehicle devoted soley to SPL before i start goin to comps in my own car 1st.

haha but then again i have a lot of room in the explorer.. maybe ill end up wasting my money just as quickly.. oh well thanks guys.. bones i might still be lookin you up if i decide to do a sweet setup in the ex... which i prolly will

If you do a wall the lowest class you can do is Street Max 1-2.

You can use your radio from a podium.

Just about every Extreme vehicle has a podium setup, where they control their radio/burp buttons/etc from.
