I use A&D for the first couple days then switch to non scented Lubriderm and use it daily. Every tat I used this method on has healed nicely and kept its color. Even my elbow which is a hard place to keep color looks like it was just done

^^^^ is right on point, when u switch to lubirderm u just wana put it on a few times a day.. when u have alot of color i have a alien on my leg and im nervous of it peeling bad but just keep it clean and let it heal. then your ready for your next one.

I have full sleeves and and few other tat's one other parts of my body and with everyone I soaked it in hot water for a half an hour the day after I got it, and then after that I used tatto goo for about 2-3 days and the switched to nutregena non scented (the one with the blue cap) and all mine are fine, they look a little fade because of the hair on my arms, but if I shave them they look bright as ****. But I hate having my arms shaved.

I don't know a lot about tattoos. But everywhere I read swears to Use A & D on the Tatts. But this chick friend of mine swears A & D pulls the ink out and I typically trust the internet a lot more.But asking opinions of anybody that knows alot about them on here. would be greatly appreciated

I've been tattooing for 26 years, so I might know a bit about this. I always recommend A&D ointment, in very light amounts, over the first 3 days. Neosporin, Bacitracin, and Triple antibiotic ointment is not good, because they are antibiotic, and antibiotics work by drawing bacterial infections out of the skin. Obviously, you dont want to use anything that's designed to draw anything out of the skin. Rub the A&D in well, then take a paper towel and dab off the excess. Your tattoo should never be shiny or greasy. After 3 days, switch to a mild hand lotion, like lubriderm or Curel. Never re-bandage a tattoo, and dont use plastic wrap EVER

I do tattoos. A & D dose cause some color fading if used in excess. I recommend using non medicated lotion.
