need to stay under the rear seat and am looking for the biggest subs with the smallest airspace requirements. and if anybody mentions the p.o.s. jl tw5 i will shoot you and then kill myself. LOL.
oh yeah. brainfart. i have been so up in the air about how i wanna do this. yesterday it was go active with fb door panels, today it's just stick with factory locations and shove the biggest subs i can under the seat. i completely forgot about the SI's
Nevermind. now i know why i forgot about the si's. i need dual 2's or single 4's. my amp is not 1 ohm stable and doesnt make enough power at 4 ohms to run the si's.
I had the same prob about small enclosure. i went with 2 polk 10s and i love the SQ but i think i would been happier with the p3 shallow 12s.
i had rf p2 12s rated at 250w rms i ran them at 400w rms and they blow my 2 10s on 870w rms away...
comparing the ones i had to the p3 shallows, the xmax is less obviously, and the frequency response for the p2 12s were 26hz lows but the shallow p3s low is only 43hz. not sure if that will affect the lows but i still be they pound because they want 400w rms
I think i'm just gonna say fuck it and squeeze DCON 10's under there.
i had a guy on here quote me 200 shipped for a custom built box to form-fit my truck , so i'm gonna be able to fit regular 10's this way. and i think standard 10's will play nicer than any shallow 12.
Dcon is a good choice but if you want to do shallow Pioneer Premier makes decent shallows. I had 1 12 in my Trailblazer at one point and it got low, just hard to get loud in a truck that big off one of those. Just don't run much over RMS because they can't take it, my suspension gave out or something, I'm not sure my the coils were good. Just be careful.
That was kind of a mess but I think you get the picture.
