Anybody go Kayaking?

I have gone kayaking with my friend a few times and used his kayak. Now I am wanting to buy my own. Any kayakers know where to get one at online or in-stores, that isnt too expensive?

i plan on picking one up when i move to NC. but it will mainly be used for fishing. ive been looking at the malibu mini-x or the new tarpon 100 for myself.

do you go in lakes , streams , rivers? or inshore , bays , ocean?

longer 'yaks track better , and of course , the wider they are , the more stable.

do you prefer to sit-on-top or sit-inside.

have not gone in a while, but have two whitewater kayaks, one calm water kayak and a canoe

I go pretty often. I just use a cheap Old Town Otter brand kayak I bought from dickssportinggoods.com (might check site name) believe it was $250 shipped. Also bought my paddle off amazon.com for cheap. I go in lakes, rivers, everywhere and it is always a lot of fun.
