Haha, exactly. I love the design, and they're built to last.I had basically the same bike it's a monsterAnd you gotta love stock dual exhaust on a dirtbike doesn't get
Anymore badasss
Ehh, not impressed with Yamaha at all right now. I've got a TTR 230, and that bike just hasn't really compared to my Honda XR's.I love it. If you are looking for the most reliable 250f get a yamaha. Yamaha's tend to get more valve life than the other makes, probably because they have 3 smaller, lighter, intake valves. Hondas are known to have valve issues, but it is really over hyped. I think Hondas are more reliable than Kawi/Suzuki, atleast for the earlier models. I rode my bike pretty hard, and put 75 hours on it (all motocross) before the valves started to move. You will get a lot more than that if you are trail riding.
I wouldn't call it "problems." These are basically 1 cylinder formula 1 engines lol. I think the rev limiter is 13,500 RPM. I think a lot of the problems were more of a maintinance issue. The valves have a coating over them, and if you don't clean and oil the air filter often and then engine starts ******* in dirty air it will wear that coating off quickly. Once that happens the valves go pretty fast.
TTRs are garbage. If your looking for a 250 or 450 4 stroke yamaha or honda is the way to go... And the valve thing isnt a problem if you get new valves for them which I would hope are replaced by now anyways.Ehh, not impressed with Yamaha at all right now. I've been looking more into KTM as well. I've heard good things about their bikes.TTRs are garbage. If your looking for a 250 or 450 4 stroke yamaha or honda is the way to go... And the valve thing isnt a problem if you get new valves for them which I would hope are replaced by now anyways.
I used to go riding at this piece of land these old people let people ride on. It had a half mile hard packed drag strip that a bunch of people with stretched out banshees would race. These guys had 450+cc banshees running on alcohol with straight pipes that would do 100+ mph. 250cc 2 strokes didn't have a chance.Couple of my toys...
