any words on the PPI 4800.2?

i know its a dumb question, but is this a pretty good 4 channel? anyone have any advice or info about it?

a friend of a friend has a MINT 4800.2 that he's selling for $300 w/original box, owners manual and remote knob

im not too awful familiar with PPI, i know of their quality and i owned a MUCH older PPI mono block years ago, it was an excellent piece, in fact i bet that if you could track it down it is probably still working today...but i didnt want to base a purchase off of just that...

i was looking to buy a higher fidelity 4 channel to throw into my setup, i just lost a pg 200.4 and figured that while im looking for another amp i might as well grab a good one...

I'm not personally familiar with that specific amp but a quick look on eBay showed me that an amp like you're talking about sold yesterday for $300 for just the amp - no box, manual, nothing ~ so if you have sourced one that's "as new" for the same price it looks to be at least a decent deal imo...

Yeah, 300 bucks for one in mint condition with the box is a good price. Like Prowler said, they go for around 300-325 on ebay in good condition. That is a good amp too. That is one of the last of the american made PPI amps. Basicly an Art Series with a few upgrades in the power supply and such.

im probably going to go ahead and snatch it up tonight, i am supposed to meet up with my friend...we'll see...if anything its not bad to have a good quality extra amp lying around, i can always sell it if i need to...appreciate the feedback
