Any SMALL speakers that can handle 50ish rms and bang out some highs?

Looking for something to pair up with 4 6.5" pg rsd's. Which are a little lacking on the highs, I have some factory dash cutouts for small 3.5" speakers, but I can mod it to fit a slightly smaller or larger

Looking for a speaker I can run on the same frequencies as the rsd's 100hz-7.5Khz that will sound good and give me a little bit of "highs"

Im trying to stay away from tweeters here

THANK YOU

Your thread confuses me. You want highs but don't want tweeters and you want to run 3.5" speakers for the same frequency band as your 6.5" rsd's?
Completely correct, I hate tweeters, I threw out the ones that came with the rsd's, they sounded like poop and the crossovers got WAY to hot on 100rms, so there gone. I tried some St350 supertweeteres and hated them to. Horns I wont even bother with

Do you have input on if the 3.5" could take 60rms or not though? One site says 60 max, one says 60rms, one says both 60max and 60rms together lol

i agree... looks more like you want more midrange. my friends car has blown tweeters and it sounds like *** with only mids.

i find it hilarious that you made fun of my build log but here you are asking a dumb question about a 3.5" $35 speaker. spend the money on a better 6.5.

Im actually extremely happy with how the rsds sound, even on there own in the sealed door pods, good midbass @ 80hz. I just know I dont have tweeters and need some more midrange/high as the singing is a little muddy at high volume.

Im sorry if you think this is a stupid question but I dont know anything about small speakers, but those tang bangs look pretty impressive

i got these but you wont cover down to 100hz with em... not flat at least.. maybe 200-400 in like a perfect enclosure.. otherwise expect like 600-8khz..

covreing from 100hz-12khz is almost gonna be impossible from a 3.5 or almost any speaker for that matter, considering its gonna be in a car..

if you hate tweeters running above 12khz.. just find a low pass filter for em.. or make one.

Looking for something with some more handling. Im going to be running the 6.5's on there own Kicker amp, and these small speakers on there own 2 chanel amp. I will be splitting the rca's coming out of my decks "MID" rca output, y-cable, one to each amp.

And because Im using only the great crossover and the 12? band eq on the deck to tune, Im looking for something that can do 80hz - 10-15khz

RSD's are still a bargain if they can take 60rms, havent got a clear answer on what they can handle yet

In pods, it might be doable //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

If he can go out to a 4.5", the CSS FR125 would be an option...or Hybrid L3...or a Fostex of some kind, although I don't know how well the midbass extension would be on those without a massive enclosure. I know the 4" Sigmas will extend past 100Hz in a horn, but in a pod you'd probably be lucky to get 200Hz...

This confused me as well, I run about 125w through my Rsds daily, and never had an issue with the crossovers warming up on me. And mine are buried in my kick panels //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif

Just get a good set of tweeters and be done with it, IMO...

I dont have the factory RSD crossovers anymore they were ruined

And the "HIGH/FRONT" RCA output on my Premier 860mp went out, so thats why Im stuck using the MID output for my soundstage and have to split it, I dont want to get a new deck, I like the 860 to much, so Im thinking the 3.5" rsds (if they take 60rms, need confirmation) would sound pretty good.
