I've been toying with the idea of a tablet as a in dash screen.
I think it will work but I'm not sure on the best way to get the sound from the tablet to the headunit.
I've thought of two methods for this:
1. pretty obvious, use a 3.5mm jack and plug it into the front. I'd like to avoid having a wire run into the front of the head unit. if I could find a headunit that has a 3.5mm input on the back than that would be fine. My concern with this method is sound quality loss. wil this be an issue? will I have problems with a hiss or buzz?
2. Get a tablet with a HDMI out and have a splitter that separates the audio to an RCA output. Sound quality would be better, but I don't even know if this product exists.
Give me your opinions please.
Thanks
