Any promising new companies out there?

Conventional wisdom tends to be to stay away from mainstream brands. But with all the fanboys touting brand x as the second coming, the tried and trued brands tend to go mainstream as well. Over the years most of the good brands became ****. So, you guys know of any upstarts that are looking like they may be worth checking into? Or even less popular brands that have been around for awhile. Kicking out good subs. This is not a sa, aq, aa, fi, dc, dd and so on thread. Those are now the mainstream on this forum. Anything else caught your eye?

The 2011 Pierce Audio wmd's and wmd2's look real nice. There website still shows the 09 models to get the info on the 2011's you have to go to there forum. 8 layer coils, 4 spiders standard yep they do look like beast's.

Now that's what I'm talking about. Never heard of them before. I am not trying to bash on the normal brands or the nuthuggers for that matter. Just seeing what is out there that doesn't get recommended 12 time a day. By now we have researched the norm to see which is better suited for our needs/budget. But perhaps some new ideas can give us a product that will suit a bit better. Or more ideas along with the norm to get some customs made.

Bit pre-mature since they have no product in production yet but considering the 2 guys behind it Obsidian would seem to have A LOT of potential

Pierce audio's been around awhile 5+ years just never gets much love. Well they did use to only do single spider setups so that could have hurt them in the eyes of the audio public but they got there stuff together and now do some real beasts. There MOAB is nice also but north of $600 is alil to steep for me to look at.

Yep, last I heard the fellow was looking into blends for a stronger cone to introduce an 18 in that line on the 12/15 motor. Trying to keep the price near $200. That definitely has a lot of potential. I hope it goes well for him.

assuming that AA is Ascendant Audio there is another AA to look out for from what ive seen.

Addictive Audio. they have a beastly lookin 8 out.....the Excruci8 magnet is 60oz more that a DD 1508. They also have some big amps out as well.

Bolder Acoustics... Pretty neat stuff... guys that run the joint are friggin' brilliant... i wanna see if they actually MAKE anything.. or if its all smoke..

RD audio never seems to get much attention. i just picked one of their subs up and am VERY impressed with it. they make some monsters too and are reasonably priced
