any loss?

My amp has a speaker input on it as well as the rca input. I'm going to be using the factory head unit for awhile, so I'm going to splice into the rear speaker wire and run them to the amp for my sub. Will this cause my rear speakers to sound worse because half of the signal is going to the amp? Is it better to do this or run a line out converter to make it use the rca input? thanks

Well tapping into the line for a LOC is always a better choice as you get much less distortion going to the amp (from what ive been told) and the amp wont take up half the power. It is using the speaker inputs as a signal, and isnt drawing current or at least it draws minimal current. In all honesty though, if youre new to car audio you won't notice much difference either way.
