Any HVAC people on the forum, come hither!

I was a duct installer/tech for 2 years

we frequently an across the following brands

ruud

rheem

trane

coleman

we had the most trouble out of coleman's and trane's

the coleman's were just hust not up on quality and over time shit would vibrate loose spot welds come undone

the tranes were just a wiring nightmare we installed trane's but switched to ruud.

it was to the point when we installed a trane we were checking every connection in the unit to make sure they were crimped replaced a few select wires to contact's. and i cant even begin to tell you how many compressors we replaced

7k is a good price is its not hack.

i have been quoted with

trane

ruud

lenox

goodmen

amanna

from what i hurd from pretty mutch everyone i have come across is how good trane is..

i mean it's a 95% efficient, 3 varible speed 80k btu furnece.

everything else was 90% 1 or 2 speed, 50-60k btu and way more expensive then the trane..

i still havent set a date for them to come in and install it yet so i have time to figure out what is the best for my budget.

Good price for 7k.

I spent 5k for my 80btu on close to a 1000sqft home and furnace and all new duck work and even went into the basement to have a/c, which I had and did majority of the finished basement. Deffintley helps the resale value of the house. I would have never gotten as much for my house when I sold it if I didn't redo the basement, add the a/c and furnace and put up a new garage and cement driveway. Yeah I had to refinance to do all that, but ended up making a nice profit. I should have kept that house and added on to it. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

Also the Trane should have a better warranty then the others.

Ask the installer if he stands behind HIS work (ductwork, where the lines are welded, wiring...etc etc) if he doesn't then I'd fine someone else. Trane should have an extended warranty available (10 years parts and labor) see if the installer offers that to you, its only a few hundred bucks and its definately worth it as you know you don't have to mess with it for 10 years.

also 7k isn't a bad price at all, just make sure you get quality work. Make sure the installer is able to answer any questions and make sure hes reputable.

Don't get someone thats only been in business 6 months or a year because if they go out of business, you're screwed on them backing up their work

It's his job. I would hope so.

yes, yes it is //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
