Thinking about hitting the water for the first time this year this coming weekend. Have any of you been bass fishing lately? If so, did any good? What did you catch them on?? I'm down here in Louisiana where the weather hasn't been too hot or too cold lately so I figured I'd give it a go this weekend.

I use to go almost every day, then I moved to AZ. It's the one thing I miss the most after moving out here.

i haven't gone yet this year either.did go mid nov and they were bitting great off of just worms,we were getting 24"- 30" stripers all day pretty much.winter isn't supposed to be that good for fishing tho.

I usually use soft plastic worms but I have a feeling I'll have to switch it up this weekend to some deep cranks or something

Even with the warmer than normal weather I would imagine they will still be fairly deep. You could try some deep diving cranks like you said if you can find some ledges to run them over where the water will go from cold to warm. Otherwise plastic worms and sluggos will probably be about it right now.

We are planning a trip to lakefork in texas over spring break i think.

well i havnt got to yet this year. my wife didnt fish til she met me, now she loves fishing bass & catfish thats our bonding time LOL. but yea im bout to get started as well i use throw plastics. i had a great year last caught the biggest bass i have ever caught, it wasnt a giant but i was about 6lbs. and my wife caught her 1st catch fish, it weight about 21lbs not bad for her first one.

Same here, my wife had never bass fished until we visited my family back in MO last year. Taught her how to use various lures and after her first catch she was "hooked". I do go with my father in law catfishing from time to time here, he regular pulls them in up to 80lbs or so.

lol same with mine at first she thought it was dumb. jus reeling in at throwing out. then i taught her, she feel in love with it. and shes came along way since last year. she outfished me last year lol good teacher.... idk if you do it down there but i love carp fishing. they are some beast
