im very aware lol, idk that kinda thing just doesnt affect me really idk why but thanks! thats wierd though b/c students down here are referred to as the "white cloud" to EMS providers so all students get crap for calls on clinical rotations, i had a cardiac arrest and a lady that had a triple A and thats it
I had on my clinicals from HELL:
head on collision - work van vs full size truck. guess what the work van had in it ? yep 5 mexicans and 10,000 pounds of tools.
2 pasangers ejected - broken boddy parts - massive cuts and bleeding . nobody spoke english either and were all just wandering around the crash site speeking spanish - our medics also did not speak spanish much so it was extra horrible. we grabbed 2 and threw them in our ambulence and drove them to the hospital while taking vitals and keeping broken boddy parts imobalized.
also had - traffic accident - amazing how this happend actually - guy in white ford mustang - stalls out going up over an overpass bridge. gets out and is pushing his car off to the side of the road - from the back of the car.... until another car came and hit him.
he was pushed under his own car - and dragged a bunch of yards up the hill coming to rest at the peak of the overpass.
other driver - not wearing seat belt - had a concusion - was aimlessly walking around asking the same 3 questions over and over no matter what we told him.
ppl with concusion do that... nobody seemed to notice this guy but me - so I grabbed the back board and imobalized his neck .... our ambulence arrived right same exact time as the fire trucks. firemen air baged buddys car up and got him out from under it. they called in the chopper to get him but then somehow magicly he got shoved in my ambulence - and my medic pulled me off the guy who hit him and tossed me in the ambulence with the half dead guy who got ran over. I bagged him all the way to the hospital. he had exploded lungs... along with countless other terrible things. my medic made me palp his chest and feel all the thousands of tiny air bubbles in there from his exploded lungs. it was gross. he was barely trying to breathe at all when I was bagging him. and he was bleeding everywhere.
ever see the trauma ward of the hospital ?
6 to 10 ppl surround you when you go in imediately - and cut off every inch of clothing from the patient. he went from half dressed to ***** in .5 seconds and was in severe trauma cause this guy was turtling like a mo fo ! its also like 100 degreese in there .
I believe he is dead - and actually diddnt last 30 min past when we left the hospital - but I never did find out for shure.
we also ran about 15 calls for sick people who were throwing up and had slime oozing out their faces.
also transported some old people from nursing homes that smelled like pee
also ran some bs calls but it seems like we kept getting calls for traffic accidents with injurys.
I got thinking
like - o yes - I want my daily job to be this :
go scoop up broken people and have them try to infect me with their nasty blood / or horrible germs / and be 100% liable for keeping them alive and in as good of shape as I possibly can while on the way to the hospital while they try and fight every thing we do on the way - and even if I do a good job every time - still have people try and sue me for mal paratice or neglect. amazing that people actaully do this job at all.
