Any experience with these JBL speakers?

Trying to get some opinions/reviews on these, JBL P662 6.5 speakers. They look pretty decent, only experience I've had with JBL were the GTO 8" subs, and to my suprise they were pretty good! Speakers will have 70 watts going to each one. Thanks

Just wondering if there would be a real noticable difference if I did go with 2ohm speakers versus 4ohm. Difference being the 2ohm will get 20watts more, do you think that would actually be noticable or not really?

What power does your amp put out at 4 ohm and what does it put out at 4? Better yet what amp do you have? Have you considered components? What are your goals? Do you currently have a sub also or not?

Have one 8" sub (Critical Mass SS82) and amp is Eclipse XA5000. Puts out 50watts at 4ohms or 70watts at 2ohms. The sub isn't as loud/powerful as I hoped so I may be switching that out again, but I'm not sure. I used to have a Boston Acoustics 10" G3 sub (was powered w/400watts) and the bass output completely over powered my speakers, so figured it would be a good idea to change to aftermarket speakers and give them some power! Just going for a nice decent sq setup, nothing crazy. Wanted to do components, but don't want to hassle with mounting the tweeter and cutting up the car!

Bridge the 4 channels to 2 channel so you will then have 150 w x2 to power some nice coaxials or comps up front and forget about the rear. Put you boston back in and you will be lovin life.As far as speakers i would run the hybrid audio imagines in coaxial mode. If you decide later you can convert them to componets or leave them as coaxials. They actually recomend them as coaxials . Your front stage is the most important so don't skimp on good quality speakers. Here is a link to them:

Those look nice, but a little outta my price range. Now on component sets that mention I mount with the tweeter, does that meen they attach to the woofer also?

I'm currently running the P652s' which is an older version of the 4ohm model and they get loud and clear off the 75wrms that I'm running to each. They are very clean as well, I had to tweek the eq in the headunit a little to keep the tweeter from being percising (spelling) at extremely high volumes though...love these drivers....as far as your case goes, you WON'T notice a difference between the 50w @4ohms and the 70w @2ohms...If it's loud you want these speakers should have no problem getting you there off little power and still sounding good doing it......Rick

Some components are able to to this and others are not, what is your price range? If you can i would suggest saving up your money to buy a nice set though.

I've seen a couple of component sets that state the tweeter also has an I mounting configuration, they were from JBL and Infinity Kappas. But I found a guy on a Nissan forum that gave some info on how to fit some components in the front speaker location w/o any additional modifications! Basically my fronts are 6x9 midbass speakers and can have a mounting depth of 2.7 in and front mounting depth of only .75in. He said I can get the mounting bracket/adapters and it will have a slot to cut and mount the tweeter next to the woofer. So I will go this route and go with some components! The components I was originally looking at and now will prob go with is the Boston Acoustics SC60. I really wanted to keep the price under $100, but I can get these new for $130 so I will just spend the little extra and get them. Thanks for all the input.
