Any Certified Scuba Divers Here???

well i finished all of my bookwork through an online course as my brother and two other family friends did. all of their work was overnighted to maui and they finished their open water dives there, just as i planned. well, i went through the same guy everyone else did and he didnt send mine out until two weeks later and it was supperd to be overnighted to maui the next day. and i get home from two weeks in maui and its sitting on my doorstep. what an idiot. he sent it to the wrong place. i must have called him 50 times over the period of two weeks and sent at least 5 emails. almost canceled payment and reported him to the bbb. to this day almost three weeks later i still have not talked to him in any form.

now i am back in cali and the only open water dive area that is decent is monterey in the cold *** ocean and i am not sure if my local dive shop honors the training that i completed, unlike the hawaii shops.

anyway, any of you guys certified? where did you do the bookwork at and what organization is it?

Mine was around the same age. Kinda like you, I did my certification dives, one rec dive and fubar'd be left ear. I need to have surgery to correct it...

It ****ed with my sinuses too much so I stick to free diving. When in shape and with practice I can do a 2min dive if I try real real hard.

I am....I've been to about 6 different places to dive and decided it wasn't for me. I only did it b/c my dad was all into it and still is but I just don't like it really. I hate jumping down in the water when there is hardly any visability cause god only knows jaws is gonna chomp on your *** or something.

I'm thinking about getting my red cross certification this next summer.

What sucks major balls is I'm in a really shitty troop and It's now 6 months untill my B-Day and the only thing I'm lacking for Life is one madge that I had been trying to get a councilor for for like 2 months. So now I cant get my eagle.

Sit still and try to hold your breath for 2 minutes. Now imagine moving and water pressure hindering your time...

You would be in the 100th percentile of the world population if you can do that.

Whenever I was learning how to take my mask off under water and clear my mask I sucked water into my nose and started freakin out. I thought I was going to die b/c I tried to go up and my dave master grabbed my leg, I was like "pwnt" I saw my life flash before my eyes.

yeah he basically took my regulator and pressed it to where it was forcing air into my lungs. and we went up after that, I puked once we got up though, lol.

I am certified...

I'm in the 100th percentile being a life guard.

I'm in the 100th percentile being able to run 5 miles in under 40min.

I'm in the 100th percentile being able to dive to 50` under my own power.

Well maybe not on the last two.

I have to REALLY concentrate and REALLY be in shape but I have done it...but I grew up in the water. We had a 35' long pool in our back yard in Orlando and when I was 7 or 8 I was able to do a full lap and a half (There Back There) underwater.
