another wiring question

i have a 4 guage wire going from my battery to distribution block with two 8 guage outputs and was wondering if maybe having 8 guage wire was too small to power a coustic 800 watt class D amp

as long as the 8 gauge is less then 5 feet or so u'll be fine.

Yea just make sure you have everything properly fused.

8 gauge wire will be fine, i have the same thing running to my 1200w (600wrms) amp

like kingpin said the most important thing here is the correct fuses, not the power wire.. 8 is great as long as those fuses are correct!

I wouldn't recommend running 8 if your amp requires 50 amp fuse or higher. It's just not safe. I'm sure people are doing it... but that doesn't mean it's right.
