Another wire question

I'm going to put this system in my friends car

Speakers: Infinity Reference 6000cs - 90RMS

Amp: Power Acoustik OV2-520 - 125RMS

I have read thread after thread and they all same the same thing, wire is wire therefore im going to get this 4 gauge amp kit

Just want to know what you guys think about my reason for getting a more powerful amp. It takes less effiecieny percent to run speakers. (I.E. lower amp must run at 100% to produce 90RMS, larger amp runs at 72% to produce 90RMS) and therefore SQ is maintained even at high volumes.

1. Am I wrong in my thinking?

2. And as long as gains and everything is turned down on the amp he should not run the risk of blowing the speakers, correct?
