Another "Get Big" thread

Here's my story, I'm about 6 feet tall and only weigh around 145. Recently, I got back into lifting weights every other day. Everytime i do this, I basically hit a wall and end up getting toned but not gaining much weight at all. I eat everything I can and still not 1 pound.

I was wondering if any of the guru's had heard of Mass XXX. I went to GNC and they said that it is good to have it before bed and then lift the next day. Just curious if anyone else had any insight on this.

Also, do you know of any protein pills? I cant stand the taste of protein drinks and need something easy.

At walmart they have these protein drinks that taste amazing, they always help me after I lift from getting sore, they also have a ton of stuff in it to bulk up.

But its nothing like the expensive stuff from gnc

i cant tell if you're being sarcastic about the walmart stuff vs GNC. what flavor was it?

I tried creatine supplement
tasted like as

and did nothing

buying some new protein shiz 2day
doesn't creatine require some crazy schedule and like mess up the water in your body or something?

 
creatine needs a lot of water and it takes a great deal of knowledge on the users part...creatine users must know how their body reacts to certain doses in order to maximize effect...for some people, it takes more...for some, it takes less...

yeah that sounds a little bit more intense than what i'm looking for... anyone know about Mass XXX or any other good supplements?

this is just some regular supplement for vegitarians, its next to the carrots at my walmart, along with the tofu

its sorta a chocolate milk/coffee taste. Its really not bad at all and not too chocolate or coffee like at all

 
i also hate the way protein tastes, but their are ways to cure that, and you will gain weight with protein, i honestly just use the chocolate stuff and mix it with a little milk and down it real fast to avoid the flavor, however the vanilla tasted good if you mix it with juices like orange juice, and if you are any good atmaking smoothies then you can add it to those with ease...

 
I don't know where everyone gets the idea protein shakes taste bad.

Only protein I have ever used/will use is ON Gold Standard. Have had pretty much every flavor there is and the only one I frowned upon was Cookies n Cream.

I am using ON to, Rocky Road FTW. I also use Syntha-6 befor bed since it has casein protein. That stuff tastes awesome

 
Mass XXX chocolate tastes awesome. I've had it before. It's the weight gainer/protein I used most of the time I was trying to put on mass (I went from 115 to 176 within a year, and then I cut to 153, I'm about 160 now and 14% body fat). As for taking it before bed, you can, but I suggest casein protein instead. It is a less digested form of protein which gets digested slowly by your body throughout the whole night inhibiting some of the catabolic breakdown of muscle (your body uses the protein/amino acids from this breakdown to rebuild other parts of the body during sleep). Take the Mass XXX after a good workout and also in the morning, and maybe a small shake a half hour before you lift. Leave the casein protein for nighttime (the GNC brand is called PM Protein, tastes like ***, but you do what you have to do right?). Try to get to GNC the first week of the month and sign up for a gold card so you get 20% off whatever sales are already going on. As for the weight gain... you thought you ate a lot before? I did too. Eat BEYOND that point. May seem impossible but its not. hah thats how you gain...

x1000000 on Optimum Nutrition protein (ON that everyones talking about). They have it at GNC as well. Get the extreme milk chocolate 100% whey and thank us later.
