Another kid from the forums, trying to scam

It's either someone that found me on SD, Here, or CAF, and he's trying to screw me over. Name is Godwin Matthew godwin_xx1@yahoo.co.uk is the email address. He's telling me not to worry about shipping and that some dude who owes him money is going to send me a money order for extra money, to cash and take out what's mine and ship the sub with the rest of the money to him. Bunch of crap, had this happen to a few folks I know. Just a heads up of another dickhead lingering around the forums

I received a similar e-mail about my F/S thread, from the same person and same e-mail addy. It was a pretty obvious scam though, since "he" was requesting that I forward him a shipping quote on the "PG, Coustic DR, Vifa" that I had for sale.

But yeah....apparently there is someone going around trying to scam sellers.

But I never posted my F/S thread on SD....only here, CAF, SSA, ECA and DIYMA.

Whys that, as long as you watch your self you dont have to worrie. I have not had a problem on here or any thing else except ebay and that was because it turned out to be a local deal. He sold me the item off ebay and I knew his father really well. But the cd player didnt work. That is the only time I have had a problem. And I am still working with him to correct it. And I just bought 2 camera's on here and one came not working got a instant refund.

Online buying is fine as long as you protect yourself or deal with people that can prove good rep. I for one have only paid first once for a item. Other then that all my refs have been in person or they have sent first.

No feedback buyers can be alright, if you talk with them first...

I contacted someone about trading my 2A3 stereo rig for his monoblocks, but I got brushed off because I didn't have any feedback on Audiogon.

He emails me a week later - apparently, someone on AudioKarma has my username and is a respected member. He retracts his statement and says he's interested in a trade, wasn't aware I was such a respectable member, etc, etc...

**** him. I could post several forums in which I have plenty of feedback, but if he's not willing to even listen to me without a reference first, it's not worth my time.

Yea I am with you on this, I will work a deal with someone with no feedback, but it takes alot of talking and really checking into things etc. Like cod is one thing I did with someone that didnt want to pay me first and I wasnt sending them the item first neither. We both had almost no refs at the time. But I must say cod does ****. It took me around 3 weeks until the deal was done and I got my cash

If anyone is a douchebag it would be you for making this over-generalized statement. While I agree it is prudent for any buyer, regardless of who they are, to do their research into any seller before dedicating their funds to someone they know only as an online persona - making the statement that anyone who takes the risk at all is a douchebag is simply ridiculous. There are plenty of people on this forum as well as others that are perfectly acceptable trading partners (regardless of which side of the transaction they are on).
I've made three sales on this forum and all three people got exactly what I advertised the product to be and it was shipped out the next business day after I received their payment.

Ask SAG3 if he is unhappy with his buying experiences thus far - as I understand it all the audio gear he has was sourced off of this forum. Ask him if he thinks myself, Flakko, or UNDERGROUND_BUM are douchebags.

You're entitled to your opinion, dude, but that one is one I reckon you have all to yourself.
