Another Internet order-related thread...

Bought a computer case that's supposed to have power supply included. Power supply was not included in received package. Also bought a motherboard & stuff.

Case was $75, Motherboard & stuff was $211.25, I got a $10 discount, and shipping was $27.70...so cost was $303.95.

I called them & told them about the power supply missing within minutes of unpacking the product.

They told me they'd just refund me. I look at the refund in the order status and it's only for $65 (refund only gets applied once they receive the case).

A quick shipping estimate from FedEx with the correct src & dst zips, correct weight (18.4lbs), and declared value yields $14.98. I figure $10 discount applied over two items is $5 an item if the discount was over the whole order. So I figure I payed 75 - 5 + 14.98 = 84.98 approximately for this case.

Whatchu think? Store says shipping is nonrefundable but my thing is that they falsely advertised; that shouldn't apply.

This is an Internet Store, not some random person off the Internet.

You will never get shipping refunds no matter if you think it is their fault or not. That is just one thing E-consumers need to take into account as a "risk" in getting good deals online. If you read the agreements they make you sign when registering, there is a clause covering their *** for "typos". this would no doubt fall under that clause. They will say the item was misentered into the site which is a typo. Either keep the case and buy a nice PS(most default supplies in cheap cases suckanyway) or send it back and accept the $65. In addition, there is probably fine print somewhere about the handling of discounted refunds as well. Companies don't jst do things without covering their *** in writing.

The funny thing is that after the refund procedure was initiated, I asked them if they had any of the same case in stock & if they could ensure a power supply was intact. They verified it for me, and I re-ordered it. That should be here on Wednesday. Wasn't really a typo...they just didn't put the PSU in the box...

Hmmm maybe they could have just sent it out to you? instead of going through the process of ordering, or either they made another mistake. hmmmm
That's what I mentioned originally, but the service rep said they couldn't do that. I shouldn't take any loss if they didn't send what I ordered. I could see if I got everything & something was wrong with it; I'd be taking a chance there. However if I can't even test whether it is wrong or defective due to their faults, I shouldn't be held accountable...that's my logic.

Yeah boyeeeeeeee!

So I complained and now my refund is $83.12! I originally said $84.98, so I guess I'm only losing $1.86 and about 3 days...3 days I could've been setting this computer up, but knew that I wouldn't be - cause I'm too lazy to do it even if I did have the power supply!

Good to hear they went all out to make you happy. Very unheard of. Who was the comany.

I didn't think they were a small company...'til it seemed the same person always answered the phone & the same person always responded to emails at their generic customer service address.

I think it was more of scenario where they didn't know what to do. There were three renditions of the refund order's line items & amounts.

AHHH makes sense now. They aren't that small, but they are no Newegg either. They have a good reputation for doing right. Them and Newegg are both great companies and if you fight most refunding issues they will do right for you, unlike fly by night sites or Ebay.
