Another flood.

Well, we've had a few floods come through here the past few months, and all was fine until today. This time it got into my house. At first it was just a standing puddle on the carpet. Decided to go pickup a shampooer and get it all up before it sat to long. I came back home, and was welcomed by mud all over my floor. Water all the way to my kitchen, inside my daughter's room, inside my room, and bathroom. I've spent the last 12Hrs. cleaning it up, and not getting anywhere too fast. Got most of the standing water out. The manager of the place said he'd get a carpet crew here Monday, and mold inspectors. Knocked off half month's rent, gave me my deposit back. Didn't ruin too much stuff luckily. I had my home subwoofer sitting on the floor, and the box is ruined. A few computers that I was fixing for people, and my entertain center was ruined. My renter's insurance should cover all of that, hopefully. Although it did flood my house, it wasn't too bad of a day, we've been wanting the carpet changed, which the Manager didn't want to pay for. I got $650 for today, plus my deposit, and rent money back. I'm just hoping that my insurance covers the computers, and entertainment center so I don't have to take that money out of my pocket.

Wow hats off to you for having rental insurance //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif Most people don't even think about that and would probably end up coming here to cry about it.

So is that it or is there a chance you could get hit again?

Thanks everyone. There's suppose to be more storms this weekend, but we're building a permanent barrier in front of the place, and in the garage next to the place, so HOPEFULLY this is it, but if it's not, we are getting warranties on all that is being done tomorrow, and I'm uping the insurance as much as my budget allows. As far as the computers, there was one that was on, which was the more expensive out of the others, but it didn't get it as bad as the others. I have talked to the people I am working on them for, and they have told me, if my insurance doesn't pay, I can have as long as I need to pay them back, as long as I return the computers. I'll probably just replace parts in the computers even if the insurance does pay for them, and upgrade them for free. It sucks, this isn't going to be completely safe for me to bring my daughter home for at least 3 more days, and I can't stand not havin' her here. We've got most of the carpets pulled up, all of the water out, All furniture is up on blocks so I can put some mold killer down. Got quite a bit done, and even got some sleep, woot!
