A Bronx man who was apparently trying to elude cops fell four stories to his death Friday, police said.
Jamar McLaurin, 31, was found by cops sprawled on the ground behind a building at 1490 Boston Rd. dressed in a T-shirt, shorts, and wearing one boot.
"No one would ever just fall out of these" windows, said a second-floor resident, who noted the frames are very narrow and that an adult would have to shimmy his way out.
A petty crook with a dozen arrests on his rap sheet, McLaurin was being sought because he failed to report to his parole officer, sources said.
Warrant officers knocked on the door of apartment 4-P just before 8 a.m., but the woman who answered wouldn't immediately let them in, sources said.
When she finally did, cops found her and a 6-year-old in the living room and the door to the bedroom locked. After they got through that door, cops found an unattended infant and nobody else inside.
The officers returned to the living room and questioned the woman, who insisted she did not know McLaurin, sources said.
When they returned to the bedroom, they noticed a back window was open. They looked down they spotted McLaurin, the sources said.
The building does not have a fire escape.
