So the amp im using does 550 rms @ 4 ohms/1 channel, the sub i have is a dvc 4 ohm sub, so i can either wire it for 2 ohms or 8 ohms, the question is can i wire it for 2 ohms and run it off the amp? or will this damage the amp? (idc if it hurts the sub much cus its a pos freebie anyways lol)

the amp is a crunch p1100.2

it will get over 1000 watts since each channel does 550. when you bridge an amp at 8 ohms, each channel will see 4 ohms. this is why you can bridge it at 2 ohms, each channel would see 1 ohm and your amp is not one ohm stable...

Its going to be hard on that amp and may even put in protect. Lets say it runs at 2ohm bridged with no problems (at the time), the only way it will be hard on the sub is if you clip the amp for a long period of time or unless it a low powered sub then you will over power it.
