Amplified Bass Tubes??

im assumign youre lookign at bazooka right?

they do well for adding a little bass to factory. they sound fairly clean at a decent volume.. btu if you try to turn it up they distort like crazy.

depends on how much bass you want. they can add as much as some good component speakers.. so an upgrade to great speakers will make your ca sound better and have good bass.

a sepreate sub would still be better. they get louder and lower, but they just usually arent as compact.

I guess that's the answer that I was looking for. All i'm looking to do is supplement my factory system with some more bass. Not alot, just enough to enhance the music inside the vehicle.

I just replaced my Bazooka EL8A after it blew... don't know why but did.. had it little over a year.. It was ok for what it was .. but now that I am smarter I am going with a real sub and amp combo. Really not any more expensive... and actually can be cheaper..

Here is what I got:

Profile M1000 (@350w RMS) - $90

Ascendant Audio Atlas 12 - $100

Materials to build sealed enclosure... $30

Already had the wire kit from the Bazooka... so for $220 I have a very good setup and I can update the amp later if I need. Blow the tube and throw the whole thing away.

BTW... I don't want super bass either... I am too old to be driving around with my bass booming like a 16 year old... I just wanted something, like you, to compliment my current audio system sound.

Here would be a good beginner setup:

AMP - http://www.millionbuy.com/prfap700m.html

SUB - Great Deal if not sold : http://www.caraudio.com/vb/showthread.php?t=101285

This will only cost you $130 and then just build a box from MDF...

Pass on the Bazooka for sure... get an amp and sub and build a box. If I would have done a bit of research I would have done this first. I'm sure eveyone else will agree.

If you want it clean and simple you should go with the Bass link.It will give you that extra bass that the stock system is lacking.

Yes, it might cost more than a seperate sub/amp/enclosure but it comes in 1 package. If you wanted to know, its a 10" sub with a passive radiator.

Check them out at circuit city. IMO, they sound much better than the bazooka tubes. Also, they arent all that expensive on ebay

like supa supa supa c said, a basslink is about the same price as a better separate amp/box/sub combo. the basslink is very simple to install, but the separate combo will sound better. it's up to you.

mtx should make a sledgehammer basslink //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/tongue.gif.6130eb82179565f6db8d26d6001dcd24.gif that would be funny.

there is also a bigger basslink if you wanted to get a little more bass and keep it simple. i believe its called the basslink t. i think it runs 2 passive radiators. i cant attest to its quality but any infinity product ive owned has been good to me.
