Ok so I was bumping just fine when I shut my truck off. My step dad unplugged my second battery for the trolling motor on the boat. I went to put the battery back it and turned the stereo on and amp was off so I checked the battery ground and it was disconnected WTF? So I recrimped it checked the connections the fuses the remote and everything even used a spare wire from remote and positive on battery and saw nothing. Does anyone have any ideas? There is no way the amp is fried it worked like 3 hours earlier

you need to use a multi-meter to measure the voltage at the amp terminals, and trace the issue that way. then you'll know you have voltage or ground issues. if you use AGU fuses, know that the only way to test them is with a meter. AGU fuses can fail on the end caps where you can't see.

if you can measure voltage at the amp using the amp terminals for power and ground, you have an amp issue. if you measure no voltage with the amp ground or chassis ground - you have a fuse/power issue. if you measure no or low voltage with the amp terminals, but good voltage with a chassis ground, you have an amp ground issue. make sense? i'm referring to the multi-meter probes and their locations. you want to connect the black multi-meter probe to both the amp ground terminal and bare metal. this will test the amp ground.

hopefully, you have fuses on all power wires on both batteries, including between the batteries. check all of them with the meter if you don't measure voltage at the amp.

Stop by a local audio shop and they will check your voltages for you, if you do not have the meter, for free.

Then they will determine what is wrong with your AMP and give you an estimate on how much it'll be.

I say, you just check your ground wire.

And, I guess just so that we may have an idea on what is going on, please list your setup?

For example:

What kind of head unit you have (stock?)?

Any extra battery/alternator/capacitor?

How does your AMP turn on? When you start the car or when you hit the power button on your stereo?

Things like that.
