Amp won't stay on- possible remote lead wire

i have tried using two different sets of amps and subs on my system so i am confident that it is not a faulty amp or sub. here is what happens though, my system will sometimes work in my car and even stayed on for as long as about 10 mins, but then it will randomly cut off and not turn back on. once it starts to turn off i can play with the remote lead wire and adjust it and sometimes the amp will power on for a few seconds, but never for any longer.

how can i verify that it is in fact the remote lead wire before i start to try to replace it?

Try bridging the 12V and the remote and see if that makes a difference. Check to make sure your remote wire is snug when it's attached, and that it's connected well to the back of the headunit. It may not even be the remote wire but rather you are suffering from voltage drop and it's putting the amp into protect mode. How much power are you running, and what electrical upgrades do you have, if any?

i didnt do the installation myself so im not sure but i just have a wire running from my battery to the amp and have done no upgrades or anything like that, the reason i think its the remote wire is that if i wiggle and disconnect and then reconnect the remote lead wire the amp will cut on for a split second and thats about it

we need more information, what subs do you have, what voice coil configuration are they, how are they wired, what model number is your amp.

it could be as simple as the subs are wired wrong (too low of an impedance) and the amp is going into protect. and when you disconnect and reconnect the rem wire it resets the protection in the amp.

are there any lights that change on the amp when this happens?
