amp will stop randomly but is always on? please help!

hi, i'm new here and really like the site. i have a simple alpine MRP500 amp set to 2 subs and for the past few weeks it will randomly cut out then come back and out again, but the light is always on. it does not matter how low i set the output to it does the same either way.

i've checked all connections thoroughly many times and don't understand why this started happening. i've had this set up for a long time.

any help would be greatly appreciated!

Did u check the wiring inside of the box? The speaker wire could be loose which would cause that.

Check for voltage drop at the terminals on the amp

i checked the box and all wires are ok.. and sadly i don't know how i'm going to get a DMM to check the voltage.. it it's usually happening while the car is in motion so it'll still be hard to test if i did have one

It'll prob happen if the car isnt moving too. The only difference between your car moving and not going would be your voltage.

i'll try to see about finding a way to check that then. so if it does completely drop in voltage randomly when i check it, that means..? amp's "fuxored" lol new word for me (i know what it mean btw //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif ), thanks dragnix haha
