Amp suggestions for specific sub

I'm having trouble grasping the concept of which sub to use with what amp. I was planning on going with the Memphis mcd500 (500W x 1 @ 2 ohms) and an Fi Q10 which comes in Dual 1 and Dual 2 configurations. Will this amp be efficient with either of those sub configs? Is there an equation I can use to figure this out? I didn't notice a sticky on this subject, probably wouldn't be a bad idea to have one...

That amp does its power at 2 ohms so you would need to get either a dual 4 ohm sub and wire it in paralell or a dual 1 ohm sub and wire it in series to acheive a 2 ohm load.

a dual 2 ohm sub can aonly be wired for a 1 ohm or a 4 ohm load, which wont allow you to use your amp to its full potential.
