hi, one of my arc 2500cxl all of a sudden will shut off and i am not even near pushing them when it shuts off... i touched the amp and its not hot i was wondering could it be a fuse?? and if so can i get the fuses just from a regular auto parts store?? if not the fuse what else do you guys think it could be? it just started doing this 2 days ago so i barely even turn any thing up now so i dont mess any thing else up....

thanks in advance

there are a few other things too. i have blown a ton of fuses in my days trying to get my P.O.S wiring together.

Here's a few things my fuk ups have shown me could be the problem

Your amp may be protecting itself because it is sending too much power to the subs and it is protecting itself from a surge if your subs blow (i think).

If your fuses were blown your amp wouldnt even turn on. So if the amp doesnt even turn on, i'd check the fuses only if your amp was blown... or maybe you dont have a high enough amp fuse (e.g. 20,30,40) to hold the power it is pulling from the battery.

i dont know exactly what is going on because the only way to do that would be to physically take a look at it. there are probably some car audio stores in chicago since its a big city... i would go look around there because most places around here do free estimates / diagnostics (if thats waht you wanna call it). so just go have them check it out and you should be good....

[-edit-]

now that i think about it, if any of your connections were bad like the ground and power wires are touching or whatever the amp would go straight ot protect because that is what my old Lanzar 1000 did. I cant even think of what to tell you other then your amp is getting too much juice from the battery... see if anyone else can help him out on this and let me know if im anywhere close

does it turn off and on ,oof and on- or does it not work right now? Did you check to see if the clipping indicator is on?

If not- check all your connections and fuses, check your grounds....get back to us on this- Good luck

it turns off and on...

the clipping lite came on before but i turned down the bass and wha nto from the cross over in my head unit and it has not clipped since so i thought my problem was solved... and when i was driving hr other nite i noticed the sound got lower and i have my back seats down so i looked in the back and noticed the power lites were not on at all...and a few mnts later came back on so i have not turned it up at all since wensday nite and its making me mad LOL

ima go check all the wires now and get back

thanks alot

PM'd ya...

Though it appears to be a bad amp ground- check to see if the ground wire is lose from the ground point on the chasis, some times those 4g connctors get lose from movement
