A lot of the more powerful amps are not fused internally.

so at 12.9 volts (way lower than what i'm seeing, normally 14.2-14.5) X's 40 amps (2x's 20 amp fuses) i'll see 516w from my mrp m450??? is there more to the equation like efficiency percentage.......lets just say my mrp m450 is 75% efficient............ take 516 X's .75 =387.......

ok now lets go back...........14.4 (normal volts) x's 40 amps = 576 x's .75 (efficiency %) = 432

this seems closer to true watts than before.

edit: alpine website says 80% efficient.

so........576 x .8 = 460.8

not bad i guess.

so on my helix that had 4x25 A fuses id have an output of 1.4 kW??? thats horse shit, theres a lot of it based into stabilitly and enabling the amp to work easier...

btw my helix had measeured output 320(rated 350)@4 and 480(rated 600) @ 2 ohms

and what to say about my rf bd 1000.1 then?

wait. shit. i didnt know the fuses power the amps...

why the **** do I even use batteries or an alternator... i should just pop a fuse on my engine and it'll power it right up...wait. why even have a ****ing engine, just stick a fuse on an electric motor and im good to go. I love earth so much.

4*25=100 amps

100*14.4=1440 total possible watts

this is at 1 ohm. you limit power with higher resistance thats why its lower output at 2 ohms.

so ure saying my amp had a kw jump at 1 ohm???sry, it was measured 700 smthg at one ohm, and it wasnt declared that low...and the measured output was at 14+v and its rated at 13.8:wow:

How come you dont have a reply to my answer? My Treo puts out 3200w at 1ohm. Its not fused at all in the amp. Also, You ever hear of unregulated power supply's? I'm guessing not.
