Amp randomly shutting off?

I have a pg x600.1 powering my aq sd2.5. sometimes my amp randomly turns off, and i have to turn off the head unit and turn it back on or restart the car to start it again. is it auto shutting off because i have the gains set too high? i thought this was the case so i lowered the gains a little bit and i THINK it happened less often.

my gain is pretty high prolly at the 9 o clock position or a little over. i set my gains by ear and am trying to get as much out of my budget sub as possible lol.

i have the bass boost all the way off on the amp.

another question, does distortion in a sub sound kind of like a slight rattling or something similar when the excursion occurs?

check your grounds. Make sure you have a solid ground to bare metal not paint.

i was thinking that but i think protect = flashing led light, i should read back on manual, but it just shuts off

could most def be the ground. my ground isk ind of lame, i didn't do any shaving because it seems like bare metal, i will try a new spot and see how that works out thanks
