amp quickly over heats ?

i have a lanzar viberant 4000 and it runs for about 2 to 3 minutes and is extremly hot and goes into protect mode can anyone help me on why its doing that?

Did you just recently install it, or has it been installed for a while and this problem is new?

What load are your speakers wired to?

we just rewired it so both terminals on each sub to 1 channel each so both terminals have two terminals on the subs hooked to it. should i bridge the amp? o does it matter where i mounted the amp i have it on the back of the sub box should i lay it flat?
