Amp questions...

Hello again.

I just got a "decent" amp for my budget build, a Sony Xplod XM-GTX1852 (185 rms x 2 @ 4 ohm), for my two 10" MTX 250w RMS 4 ohm subs in sealed enclosure.

First question... 185w RMS into 250w RMS subs... Acceptable match?

Second question... RCA preouts on HU are 2.2v, amp is set to ~1.2v to get decent volume, and test tones sound clean... Am I at risk of damaging either at moderatly loud volume rock?

Third question... 8 gauge ok for this amp?

no risks, but that amp is pretty trash. 185w would be fine. you might as well just set your amp to 2v to get the most out of it

Amp is semi-temporary. I plan on eventually selling it and stepping up to a 500w RMS Kicker monoblock and remote bass adjuster at a later date.

Ah cool stuff. Yeah 8g would work fine. 8g would most likely work for that 500w kicker too..i'm not sure on the exact power handling for 8g wire

Took the Sony amp back, it couldn't fit where I needed it to.

Ordered an Alpine MRP-M500.
