amp probs please help

So I just got a kicker zx1500 it blew one of my subs ok no big deal. But when I went to hook up diff subs the amp wouldn't come on. The protection light would come on for a split second but wouldn't even stay on. I checked all wires fuses etc. Still nothing I hooked it in my homeboys car still. nothing hooked his amp in my car it worked fine. What should I do?
