amp problems!!!!

Hey peeps....I got a problem, my amps fuses, main terminals and circuit board is all good but no sound is coming from my speakers except a sound to indicate that my speakers are getting power(when I fiddle with the filters etc)....I think there's something wrong with my rca jack.....it just stopped playing....is there anything I can do to repair it myself?...and what do you think is the problem? I checked my wires and music source and it seems fine

Try a different source, if you have the adapter you can use your phone as a source, bypassing the head unit, also remember to turn your phone all the way down before you plug it in. The adapter has a double din and to rca jacks on the other side.

diagnosing no reproduction is a 5 minutes job if you have the right tool(s). If you don't have a DMM, get one.

1. Set it to vAC and test the output section of the amplifier (one channels + and -) if you're getting output (the voltage should raise and lower with volume) then the amplifier is good, rca's are good, deck is good; if you're not, go to step 2.

2. Keep it to vAC and test the RCA in. Outer shield is - center pole is + (don't touch them). The voltage should raise and lower with volume. If you are not getting voltage then proceed to step 3.

3. Pull the deck and make sure that the RCA's are plugged in. If they are, test the outputs of the deck the same way in #3 (or you can use a 3.5mm jack to male RCA - or female with barrel connectors - and plug your phone or ipod into it and play audio). if the sub plays, its not the RCA, amp, or sub (it's the deck - make sure the preouts are on).
