Amp powers on but sound quality bad now???

I've had my Kicker ZX 650.4 for about 8 years and never had an issue. The other day I got in my car and the audio quality just took a crap. Everything was tinny and muffled. I swapped it out with another amp just to make sure it wasn't anything else and everything sounded great again.

I cracked it open and didn't see any bubbled/blown caps or fets(doesn't mean one isn't bad). Does anybody have any idea what it could be?

Thank you very much for all of your help. :)

put the kicker back in again on same rcas, if bad sounding, put other amp back in, if other amp continues to sound normal, it's the kicker amp.

Yeah I did that too just to make sure. Hooked it up the same exact way I did the other amp and it still sounded like crap. I know something is wrong with the Kicker amp I'm just wondering if anyone could shine some light as to what the problem could be internally.

I work in electronics and am JSTD certified. I can also get any component for really cheap. I plan on taking it to work for some of my engineering friends to look tomorrow.

When you connect the rcas, connect just ONE. Doesn't matter which input you plug it into. If it's sounding odd, place your hand on bare metal somewhere on the car and use your other hand to touch the heatsink or the outer shield of the rcas.

If that doesnt change anything, while one rca is plugged in, hold the outer shield of the rca and slowly move it around in a clockwise movement.

If that doesnt change anything, some internal part has probably failed or come loose.

Just walked outside and tried that. I didn't notice any change :-(

Well i dont know much but what it sounds like to me is that the speaker outputs are shorting out on a channel. I had this happen on the backside of my head unit ( a wire was pushed out of the connector and shorted to the other side )( + side of speaker to - side)
