Amp not turning on

I just installed my amp into my car today. Im sure all the connections are correct. However for some strange reason i am not getting any power to the amp. No red light no green light, nothing. Fuses were also checked, but i still got nothing. I was wondering if anybody had any ideas or suggestions to what might be going on. Thanks

take the remote wire out and run a wire directly from the positive input on the amp to the remote input and see if that turns the amp on. if it doesnt, do you know how to check and see if you actually have power at your positive input?

x2, just hook your power input and your remote input together with a wire coming from your power input and see if it turns on, if yes, then your remote wire is bad, if no then you need to double check your power wire. if your power wire is good, then look at your ground. if you know your amp works then there are only four factors that would make it not turn on. 1-power wire 2-remote wire 3-ground wire 4-fuses. double or triple check everything

Do you have other things turned on by the remote-turn on? Sometimes 2 or more amps can cause a shortage of voltage to be sent through the remote turn-on and you'll have an amp that won't turn on. it's happened to me before. If this is the case, a simple fix is a relay.

shit ive never had this problem, and i currently have 3 things ran off my remote wire, a memphis mojo, autotek mean machine and stinger digital volt meter

Check you Ground, does your head unit have 2 remotes, one for the Antenna and one for the amp. Use a test light on the remote wire and the remote lead coming out of the head unit.......

One more quick comment. If i touch the power wire to the chasis of my car and it sparks, does that mean my ground wire and power wire are good, and that the problem could be the remote? Ive had the same simple setup for a couple years and it never gave me problems (until now of course). I'll tryout everything that was posted in this thread. ill let ya know how everything works out. thanks guys

Um I think it really depends a lot on if current was being passed through or not, but either way thats not good. Take out the other remote stuff, and if that doesnt work then, try to install them in another friends car, or something.

So what exactly happened... everything was working, then you did something, and your + wire sparked when it touched your chassis, and now it doesnt work? If thats the case it seems like a no brainer to me.
