Amp Kill Switch!!

I have a 2004 Yukon with factory bose. I'm trying to install an kill switch for my aftermarket amp. When i had a system in my truck before I had a kill switch that I wired and It worked properly.

Now im installing a new switch becuase i've got another set up now.

Anyway I figured the obvious... Ground on switch to ground on car, remote from switch to remote on amp right?? not so in my case obviously

becuase when I flip the switch it turns off both amps becuase NO sound comes out of any speakers.

I have two wires. One remote wire coming from my amp and one remote wire from the switch connected together then I have another wire connected from them into the wiring harness

What am I doing wrong?

i'm not seeing what is wrong here... the switch is in one position, and the amps are on... the other position, and their off... isnt that what your going for?

maybe try rotating the switch around

do you have one remote wire as a jumper to both amps? if your looking to turn off just the sub amp and leave the speakers on then you need to have two seperate remote wires.

was my same thinking. thought when the switch was off, you wanted your amps off

I dont want my factory amp off becuase then none of my front and rear speakers work. I want it so when i turn off the switch the sub amp turns off so theres not bass.

I just figured it out. I technically had my switch and sub amp remote wires going into the wiring harness therefore killing both amps..

I ran my sub amp remote wire to the switch and then another remote wire from the switch to the harness and that worked

just put the switch on the remote wire to the amp

why do you need a ground for a switch ...if its one that lights up maybe you have them back wards
