guys my amp just fried its a kenwood 600 watt 2 channel model 729s, heres what happened, a bit ago it started to get really hot a lot hey, and last night i was drivin, and it just quit, checked all the cables, rcas, tinsel leads on the subs, even the fuses. the amp gets power, but no sound, and when i disconnected the power wire to take it out, the subs thumped once, i put it back on,took it off thumps again, im sure its fried, how believable is it that an amp would start on fire? cause ive got warranty on it at futureshop, but they try to fix it first you see, then after 60 days, i get the new 800 watt, any suggestions?

i dont know if i would try the " amp on fire" thing...cause i havent ever heard of one going up in flames...or on fire..if you had it mounted to some carpet it might but i have never heard of it..how low were you running it..

D

for sure, i used to have an mtx blue thunder running at 1 ohm believe it or not, and it is still running for the friend i sold it to, 2 years at one ohm amazing

yeah in my old car I ran a Profile Baja 600 watt amp at 1 ohm for years, never gave up on me. Though it did burn the hell out of my hand once or twice.

I had a dumbass friend who started his backseat on fire. it wasnt the amp's fault though. he ran the power wire through the middle of the back seat with no fuse. Serves him right . .
