I just installed a HiFonics 1500d amp and a pair of Alpine Type R's, I was listening to the stereo for a good 20mins+ and the turned it up a notch and boom blew the main power fuse... so i got another fuse but turned the volume right down, had it pretty low and turned it on again and it blew another 80amp fuse.. its a 4awg kit and i cant figure out whats goin on?? I dont think it can be grounding because A) its a brand new kit so the wire is all intact b) all connections that touch metal are protected and it worked fine for awhile then gave me these problems?! i was wondering if anyone had any thoughts on this? mabey i need a bigger fuse? 100a? any help is greatly appreciated!

He stated that he had the volume at a pretty low level and it still blew the fuse. A 80amp fuse is a pretty stout size fuse. Something could be wrong in the electrical system or amp.

Now i can understand if you were listening to it a high level and the fuse heated up and finally melted but at a low level with a new fuse does not seem right.
