I am trying to connect an amp to the factory sub in my 2013 Ram 1500 with alpine. I have located the connection and would like an adapter for both sides so I don’t have to cut th wiring. I am not sure which wires to cut also even if I did just splice on. Can anyone help?

To connect an aftermarket amplifier to the factory subwoofer in your 2013 Ram 1500 without cutting the factory wiring, you can use an adapter harness specifically designed for this purpose. Here's a step-by-step guide on how to proceed:

### Step 1: Identify the Factory Subwoofer Connection
1. **Locate the Factory Sub Connection**: You mentioned you've already found the connection. This is typically located behind the dashboard or in the trunk area, depending on your setup.
2. **Determine the Wiring Colors**: Before purchasing an adapter, take note of the wire colors and the pin configuration. This will help you find the right adapter.

### Step 2: Purchase the Right Adapter
1. **Search for a Wiring Harness Adapter**: Look for an adapter that is compatible with the 2013 Ram 1500 and is specifically designed to connect to the factory subwoofer. Brands like Metra or Scosche often have these types of harnesses.
2. **Check Compatibility**: Make sure that the adapter supports your Alpine amplifier and the specific factory subwoofer setup.

### Step 3: Connect the Adapter
1. **Connect the Factory Side**: Plug the adapter into the factory wiring harness without cutting any wires. Ensure that it fits securely.
2. **Connect the Amplifier Side**: Use the other end of the adapter to connect to your amplifier. Again, follow the appropriate input connections as per the amplifier's manual.

### Step 4: Test the Setup
1. **Power Up**: Once everything is connected, power on your system and test to ensure that the amplifier and subwoofer are functioning correctly.
2. **Check for Sound**: Play some audio to ensure that the subwoofer is receiving the signal from the amplifier.

### Additional Tips
- **Use a Multimeter**: If you're unsure about the wire functions, using a multimeter to check for power, ground, and signal can help.
- **Consult the Manual**: Refer to the user manuals for both your amplifier and vehicle for any specific wiring diagrams.

Thank you so much!

Has anyone had any luck fitting a 10” sub into a ram crew cab? If so how did you do it?

Is there an OEM 10" you are trying to replace or do you mean adding a sub. If adding one, then you can find underseat boxes for the sub you choose. I would look for the box first then a sub that is compatible with it's volume.

I would definitely look for the harness. Try crutchfield.com support. Also, look for the wiring diagram for your vehicle. My service manual has excellent color-coded wiring diagrams.

If I did have to tap wires, I wouldn't splice/cut any. Instead, use a T-Tap or similar connector. Good luck.
