Amp in spare tire hole?

can i do this without having any problems with my amp for security reasons? and also is it easy to screw my aftermarket deck in with hex screws also for security reasons. Im trying to make it as hard as possible for people to steal my system. If it matters i own a 99 monte carlo Z34

Are you wanting to just install the amp in the well by itself? Are you planning on putting in a amp rack? If not, I would be a bit apprehensive about putting an amp in the spare tire well. There is always the risk of condensation. Also, how would you mount it in there?

If getting jacked is a concern, I presume you dont have an alarm system installed?

i was just goin to lay it down in the and put the subs(2 15 L7's) on top but leave a little room for air. I will have an alarm. if its not a good idea i have others i just want to see my options

I have my custom amp rack in my spare tire well and love it for convience purposes as well as security. I have my highs amp, crossover and battery in there. What I did, was I put some damplifier down all around it then layered it with some carpet, same that is on my box. Then I cut around the spare tire on the carpet on the floor and made hinges, so I all I have to do is raise it up like a door. Have had it that way for a few months and never had one issue what so ever. I think it is a great idea if your looking to save some space or for securtiy issues. Then again is in a trunk, so if they are in there, then I think your screwed, lol! I did mine for space purposes.

I dont have a spare though, so that does kinda ****, lol!

Then again its in my finace's car, so it would just be a phone call away. I never stray to far away from home anyway, lol!

I personally would not do it. You run the risk of moisture and I doubt its going to get very good airflow down there.
