Amp/HU clipping clarification

This is just to make sure I'm not thinking wrong.

The issue with clipping is mostly caused by the HU at higher level volume or the amp with Bass boost, etc. on?

So If I was to match 75 RMS amp to 75RMS speaker with full gain, and no EQ/boosts on, there would be little or no clipping? (Hu being a pioneer with volume 55 of 62)

?

I just am scared to turn the gain all the way up on my Amp because I fear the gain will burn up the amp or the speakers, even if I don't have it at more than 50% volume.

I can't wait to get this stupid system tuned...

well if you set your gain all the way up and set your head unit volume half way it should be okay just don't turn it up higher then that but every song is recorded differently so you might have to turn it up a few more volumes
