Amp Guts

Most of you have probably seen this site - http://ampguts.realmofexcursion.com/ that has pics of amps and their internal components.

The pics are nice and cool to look at, but I don't know much about how an amp is built or what's involved in its circuitry. I was wondering, how can you compare an amp's quality by looking at its "guts"? Are there some things you can look for to tell if it's good or bad?

Well I guess you'll be looking to see how crowded everything is. Are all the components right next to one another? Are they spread out? Is there proper ventilation?

Look at some of the pictures. You'll be able to tell the nice well thought out boards compared to ones just thrown together.

When components are close together it can cause a heat issue.
