Amp for RE XXX 12"

Well, my car got jacked today, so I lost all of my audio equipment (obviously). I am waiting for the insurance company now (they'll either recover the car - not likely and if they do I doubt I'll have any equipment left in it - or they'll give me a settlement). I'm trying to plan out a purchase to replace my gear. I might as well use this time to upgrade slightly (coming from an Alpine Type-X 12"). I'm thinking about a 12" XXX, but I need to know what amp people would recommend to power it. I wish I had all the money in the world to spend, but I know I don't. I'm not sure what my budget is yet (depends on the settlement I guess, and how long I can hold off to upgrade speakers/amps), but give me some recommendations please. Thanks.

Not really sure yet. I guess it will depend on where I'm at when the time comes to purchase. Quite possibly an older model that I can find used or cheaper. Potentially a new one though if I really feel like blowing all of my money (as if I have any).

well your answer to that question will help greatly in picking out an amplifier, id recomend a sundown on an old model, but something with 2k to 2500 on the new model
