amp for k's

If i bought 3 ED k's {12"} what would be a good amp(s) to power them. Would you recommend 1,2,or 3 amps. I want to keep my amp(s) price range around 350-400. Also would i need to upgrade my altenator in a 97 chevrolet. What else besides wiring would i need? One amp might do it, whats the wiring conf. on the subs (dual 4 or single 4)...

It can be either cant it? I havent purchased the subs yet? What should i get dual or single? Either way, doesnt matter to me.

Well if you get the...

Dual 4ohm version x3 = 2.67ohm load

Single 4ohm version x3 = 1.34ohm load

So the dual 4ohm versions whould mean you need to find a 2ohm that is around 1000watts @ 2ohms. Or the single 4ohm sub, meaning you need to find a good 1ohm amp around 1000watts @ 1ohm. The USX 1000D would be perfect with 3 single 4ohm K's http://www.thezeb.com/caraudio/us_acoustics.html

PS, its a D class, so shouldnt really need to upgrade anything, wont pull more then 80amps...

I think i like the sing 4 ohm better beacuse i can get the us acoustics amp for cheap. Do you know if i need to upgrade my altenator? If i get the usx 1000d?

Well it depends if you can find a better amp that will deliver around 1000watts at 2 or 1ohms (probally not) but you can do some searching...
