Ill be getting a new brz next month and im trying to get everything figured out before it comes in. The hertz ive been having for a year now but ive been waiting to install them in the new car. The head unit is gonna be a pioneerAVH-X8500BHS. Im not decided on subs yet i have a re xxx 04 but the weight of it is making me not wanna install it. Anyways budget on the amp is 350. I know install is gonna make the biggest difference with sq but id like to get a good amp to go with these great components.

Sorry i totally forgot to put that. I wanna go active but........ i have never ran active before. I know its gonna take me forever to get it right but i really wanna try active. I have heard these components are best active.

Honestly with the quality of mids that you have i would seriously consider Audison for amps their amps are excellent but i'm not sure you can get into their good stuff at 350.00

Some pretty decent options if you are willing to remain passive. OCS has the Boston GT2200 for $190 right now (steal), for example.

Otherwise, I'd recommend the PPI P900.4 or Soundstream TN4.900. Same amp with different casing and both have active-capable crossovers. Also, the Sundown SAX-100.4v2 comes at the top of your budget.

No offense but there is absolutely zero comparison between stuff like you listed and Audison, Old PPI stuff, Old Diamond Amps ect ect. It is on a competely different level. I wouldn't recommend having a set of midranges that are elite equipment over 1,000.00 for the set and only putting an entry level amp on them. If you must then i guess you have no choice but just remember, your mids will only be as good as the weakest link in your system and yes the SR Audison amps are pretty darn good.

If you knew what were in the internals of that Audison SR, you'd be reconsidering. FWIW, those Boston GT 2-channels are some of the most transparent entry-level 2-channels I've come across to date.

And DEI destroyed the Diamond name //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif

I do know what's in the Audisons, i'm not a newb. Thought he said Mille's, my bad. Yes, DEI *****. The entry level Audison equipment will run with most brands mid to high end stuff ALL DAY.

Ah he threw me off with the title "mlk"

He did say the Milles, it's a mistake on my part. When I think Audison, I really don't consider anything but the LRX. I used to be in the same boat as you with regards to companies like Mosconi and (homage to your username) the old US Amps, especially the ones that were plexi'd. Sad truth is they ended up cheaping out on the power supply and MOSFET stages which plays a detriment to the overall SQ and reliability of the amp as a whole.

When it's time to upgrade my amplification for the front stage, I'm going with Zed out of personal experience with the brand. Not because of the oooooh plexi factor or anything else, but unfortunately Zed isn't in his budget. That's better reserved for my other recommendations.

That's cool man, yea, the old us amps are by far my favorite amps ever made. They had pretty good sq qualities but as far as most power for the buck at the time they were 2nd to no one. I miss my 400X. But yea, i'm actually doing research at the moment myself and i think i've figured out what my highs will be atleast. I'm thinking of going with the Audison Voce mids and more than likely a Voce amp for them as well. You heard much about them?
