Amp for a shallow mount Type R 4 ohm

I've been out of the scene for a few years. I'm really kind of lost on finding a great value amp.

I'm looking for an amp, 2 channel or mono that will power a svc 4 ohm shallow mount Type R.

Anyone have any good suggestions? Not really needing top of the line. Looking for value/quality.

Price 100-300 if needed.

Looking to get around 500-700w rms

Here ya go.http://www.caraudio.com/forums/amplifier-classifieds/540542-kicker-zx750-1-a.html Running it at 4 should be a good match and they're excellent amps. I speak from experience. Might be a tad under powered at 4 but these things are usually good for over 900 @ 2. I'd try and talk him to about 160 or so....

Probably anything would work. If I was buying right now, I'd get PPI P1000.1

RMS power 4 ohms (14.4V): 580 watts

RMS power 4 ohms (12.0V): 395 watts

The price at sonicelectronix is $210 shipped. The amplifier is very small.

If you want to go a little cheaper, the P600.2 2-channel amp from the same family of amplifiers could work (about 600watt RMS in bridged mode). I would have preferred the P1000.1 since it will probably run more efficiently than a bridged 2-channel amplifier. It is also 2ohm and 1ohm stable, so there will be more flexibility for future upgrades.

This seems like it would work perfect. I've owned a PP amp back when also. IIRC it worked flawless for me. I like the smaller space and the upgradability for the future.

I've never heard of Boston Acoustics. Any good, because the PP amp is winning this fight.

BA GT > PP

Older Boston GTs were Italian designed...same buildhouse as mosconi, audiosystems, etc....if u dont know these amps, Google em...some of the best amps u can buy period. Take for example the fact that the BA is stable to one ohm stereo and 2 ohms bridged....I haven't yet found another amp in the price range tht can do this. Also, has an internal fan so can be mounted everywhere and even upside down...

I can't say the PP is a bad amp as I've never had one but id GLADLY choose the BA over the PP all day, everyday
