Amp for a DVC sub??

Hi,

I got a Pioneer DVC 800w sub. The sub is driven by an AudioBank 2ch 700wx2 (1400w bridgeable) amp. It got kick as bass. A sound technican advised me to get a monoblaock amp or a 4 ch amp. Which amp will be best to run this DVC sub. Please advise me on the output power of the amp to run this sub. I want tight and deep bass. Whcih is better: a 2ch or a 4 ch amp for a sub.

it doesnt matter. the ch. has nothing to do with how it sound. its all in your install

why would the guy suggest a 4 channel amp for one sub ? did he say why? that doesnt seem to make alot of sense to me . but if you are happy with the amp you have now dont change it. . .just because he said so! was he tryin to sell you something ? if so that would explain it.

unless he wanted you to run each voice coil bridged to each side (channel 1-2 bridged) and (3-4 bridged)

okay.... is this a dual 2ohm or dual 4ohm sub? Monoblocks are always better for subs(more effiecient too=less load on electrical system to output the same power as a 2 channel), but if you have a dual 2ohm sub, you have to be sure to spend the money on a 1-ohm stable monoblock, that or run a bridged 4ohm load on a 2 channel. dual 4-ohm, run a 2ohm load on a monoblock, or an 8ohm bridged load on a 2 channel(cutting the output of the amp in half). you choice.

If you're only running 1 subwoofer, I'd go with a monoblock amplifier.
