Just fried my RF1001 BD. Burnt up the coil and about 8 output transistors. Have no
idea how it happened. It just shut off and started smoking. Anyway, I've been
running the whole system off my RF 851x. 1 15 bridged, 2 sets of CDT comps. The
amp gets so **** hot I'm sure it will eventually fry itself. I'm looking for a new
sub amp to power 1 of my 2 15" PG Titaniums. I've decided to only use 1 sub, as my current setup of 2 is a little bit overkill for my 92 civic sedan. Looking for a
good quality sub amp that will provide a solid 500 watts to my 1 15". My price
range is about $250. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanx!
P.S. Called our local audio shop Sound Gallery, and they stated the most probable
reason the amp fried was because with no extra battery in the car, and even with a 1 Farad cap, the amp couldn't draw the needed power, kept spiking, and eventually
burnt out it's power supply. Sounds like a load of crap to me. Wouldnt I lose an
alternator first?
